Norman Vincent Peale was an American author, professional speaker and minister.

Norman Vincent Peale was born on May 31, 1898, in Bowersville, Ohio. After graduating from the Bellefontaine High School, Ohio, he went onto earn his degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and Boston University School of Theology. In 1922, he was ordained as a Methodist minister and 10 years later he joined Marble Collegiate Church, Manhattan, as a pastor. A 52 year tenure there ensured that he became one of New York's most well known preachers. In 1935, he started a radio program, The Art of Living, that ran for 54 years. He gradually moved onto the television medium and started writing books. He died at the age of 95, on December 24, 1993.
