Description of The Adventures Of Tintin: 4 In 1 Series (Volume-8) (English) (Hardcover) by Herge

Tintin is the main character in a comic book series created by the Belgian artist and writer, Herge. Tintin is a young reporter who gets involved in various adventures. The stories in this collection are The Castafiore Emerald, Flight 714 To Sydney, Tintin and The Picaros, and Tintin and The Alph-Art. The Castafiore Emerald is the one Tintin adventure where the entire story takes place at Marlinspike Hall, the ancestral home of Captain Haddock. Bianca Castafiore descends on Marlinspike Hall with her retinue for an unannounced visit. The peaceful household is turned upside down and along the way, Castafiore loses her precious emerald, and a magazine publishes a story about her being engaged to Captain Haddock, much to the latter's horror.

In Flight 714 To Sydney, Tintin and his friends are invited to join the millionaire, Laszlo Carreidas, on his private jet for a trip to Sydney, Australia. But the plane is hijacked and Tintin meets his old enemy, Rastapopoulos. He intends to make Carreidas give him the details of his Swiss Bank account so that he can take over the Carreidas fortune. However, he finds the eccentric Carreidas a hard nut to crack. Tintin and his friends receive help from an unusual source as they attempt to thwart Rastapopoulos' plan. In Tintin and The Picaros, the Thomson Twins and Madame Castafiore are held prisoners in San Theodoros by General Tapioca who has ousted General Alcazar from power. So, Tintin, Captain Haddock, and the Professor join the Picaros, Alcazar's troop of brave warriors, to help stage a coup and release their friends. In Tintin and The Alph-Art, Bianca Castafiore has a new mentor in the mystic, Endaddine Akass. However, circumstances begin to link the mystic with the death of an art gallery owner, and other links are discovered between him and the art world. Tintin launches an investigation that reveal the mystic's involvement in large scale art forgery. This story is based on an unfinished black and white manuscript by Herge.
