Description of Ask and it is Given : Learning to Manifest Your Desires (English, Paperback) by Esther, Hicks, Jerry

Ask And It Is Given: Learning To Manifest Your Desires presents some of the teachings of the spiritual gurus, Esther and Jerry Hicks. It seeks to enlighten the readers of the fact that each of them has the innate potential to craft a life of happiness and contentment by choosing to cultivate positive thinking. As seen in many of their books, the authors use the non-physical entity called Abraham to guide the readers on the spiritual journey they are about to undertake.

Every individual is deserving of the best possible life, worldly status notwithstanding. But, many people are unaware of the fact that several cosmic laws govern their time-space reality and play a significant role in shaping their lives. As a result, when they encounter problems in various aspects of their lives, they are unable to cope properly with the dark and troubled times.

They reveal several powerful processes that can help every individual successfully handle any and all kinds of problems in their relationships, health, career, finances, and more.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part presents Abraham's teachings on a variety of topics like creating one's own reality, emotional reactions, and handling unwelcome thoughts. Description of The Tao of Physics (English)(Paperback) by Fritjof Capra

Dr. Capra tries to combine two worlds. One of these is deeply rooted in logic and centuries, if not millennia, of research. The other is rooted in the beliefs of men, and is sustained by the stories men passed on from generation to generation. Physics has tried to explain everything that goes on around us with a rational vein but mysticism has often been its strongest impediment. Dr. Capra looks to Eastern mysticism with apprehension, and explains how a trip to India and a chance meeting with Rabindranath Tagore made him change his mind. He explains that Eastern mysticism may also have some answers to physics' unsolved problems. He looks at Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism to show their parallels with the latest discoveries on the cyclotron. He shows how although physics and mysticism may not need each other, humans may yet need both to survive.

About Fritjof Capra

Fritjof Capra is an Austrian-American physicist, a founding director of the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley, California, and a member of the faculty of Schumacher College.

Capra studied at the University of Vienna, earning his Ph.D. in theoretical physics. He has also worked at the University of California, Santa Cruz, the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Imperial College, London, and the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. A polyglot, Dr. Capra speaks German, English, French and Italian. He has also written The Turning Point, Uncommon Wisdom, The Web of Life, and The Hidden Connections.

Description of Living With the Himalayan Masters (English)(Paperback) by SWAMI RAMA

Living With The Himalayan Masters traces Swami Rama's spiritual journey, and his experiences with the masters of varied traditions.
Swami Rama was born in a small village in the Himalayas. From an early age, he started living with his Guru. He was not educated in schools, but received knowledge from the sages of the Himalayas. His education was in the Himalayan caves and monasteries. These gentle sages nurtured in him a love for nature, creatures, and the entire universe. Swami Rama tells us about all these Himalayan masters, the yogis, the privilege of whose teachings and company, he enjoyed. In this book, he recalls his years with them, and brings to life those sages who taught him through their experiences, not through books or lectures.

In Living With The Himalayan Masters, he tells us about his master, known as Baba Bengali, who could read young Rama's mind. It was with him that Swami Rama began his spiritual journey. Gudari Baba is another teacher Swami Rama details in his book. It was this Guru who taught him the value of direct experience. Then, there is Uria Baba, who believed and insisted that every individual has the powers of healing. Through these experiences, Swami Rama tells us about the unknown ascetics and sages, who voluntarily stay away from other people. These tales of sadhus and their siddhis impart knowledge and wisdom, which is otherwise inaccessible to the common man.

Living With The Himalayan Masters has an introduction by Swami Rama's ardent disciple, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. He tells us, in the introduction, how this book details what we should do to achieve success and happiness.

About Swami Rama

Brij Kisore Dhasmana or Swami Rama, was born to a Brahmin family residing in a small Himalayan village. Swami Rama wrote many books, through which he imparted the wisdom that he had gained through his life. In 1969, he travelled to the US. He set up the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, where he tried to bring together the modern western scientific approach and the teachings of the Eastern countries. Swami Rama died in 1996

Description of An Introduction to Indian Philosophy (English)(Paperback) by SATISCHANDRA CHATTERJEE

An Introduction to Indian Philosophy, termed by Srila Prabhupada as 'very authoritative', while introducing the reader to the spirit, vast ocean of knowledge and outlook of Indian philosophy, also helps him to grasp thoroughly the central ideas.  Philosophy, in its widest etymological sense, means 'love of knowledge'. It tries to search for knowledge of himself, the world and God, and describes the Indian way of life as we know it.  Indian philosophy denotes the philosophical speculations of all Indian thinkers, ancient or modern, Hindus or non-Hindus, theists or atheists.  Some believe 'Indian philosophy' to be synonymous with 'Hindu philosophy', however, this would be true only if the word 'Hindu' were taken in the geographical sense of 'Indian'.  But if 'Hindu' means the followers of a particular religious faith known as Hinduism, the supposition would be wrong and misleading.  The authors have, with considerable merit, highlighted the significance of Indian views in terms of modern Western thought.  An Introduction to Indian Philosophy is a seminal work covering topics as varied as the Carvaka, Jain, Vaisesika, Mimamsa, Buddha, Sankhya Systems, amongst others.

Buy The Power of Your Subconscious Mind: Book
Description of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind - In The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind, Joseph Murphy speaks about the immense untapped potential of one's subconscious mind - a powerful, life-changing force. This concept has a proven scientific basis as well as real-life case studies to support it.
Despite visible results, people have trouble believing in the transformational capacity of the subconscious mind. Many of them are all too eager to discard it as New Age mumbo-jumbo. According to the author, it is this lack of faith that keeps an individual from taking advantage of the subconscious mind in achieving his or her life goals. The author seeks to help every reader tune in to his/her mind, and successfully use its power in all areas of life.
Once the mind is trained to desire and visualize positive results, a strong, seemingly magical force is unleashed. It sets off a chain reaction- obstacles are surmounted, creative thinking is stimulated, and goals are confidently achieved. And the individual and his/her subconscious mind play the most important part in all of this. The author discusses several techniques to use the subconscious mind to increase the flow of health, wealth, power, and happiness in one's life.

Buy The complete works of Swami Vivekananda (Set of 8 Volume) 1st Edition: Book
Description about The complete works of Swami Vivekananda (Set of 8 Volume)
The Complete Works Of Swami Vivekananda (Set Of 8 Volume) comprises the complete works of Swami Vivekananda, compiled from his numerous lectures from around the world.
Through his writing, Swami Vivekananda sought to revive Hinduism amidst the disintegration of the modern world. He wanted to consolidate and strengthen the underlying principles of Hinduism, and immortalize its rich heritage. He believed only in the existence of truth and humanity, and binding all religions together with the common thread of love.
Within his Guru, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda found the embodiment of all that was written in ancient texts, despite the former not having read a single one of them. This filled him with a feverish desire to attain supreme knowledge.
In his work, he explored the the concept of Advaita (or non-dualism) as he learnt from his Guru, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He espoused the belief that all the religions of the world are true, and serving mankind was equal to serving God. He believed that a nation's future was in the hands of its people. His writings provide foundational insight into Vedanta and Yoga—disciplines of Hinduism.
He observed that there are four basic types of humans: those whose lives revolve around activity, those who strongly desire fulfilment of some inner purpose, those who explore the functioning of their minds, and those with a logical bent of mind. For each of these types he defined a type of Yoga: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Jnana Yoga, respectively.
Swami Vivekananda's writing is imbued with three vital elements: the Shastras, the Guru, and the Motherland. His ideas, teachings, and writings, have been entrenched globally, and are taught and practiced all over the world. More than a century after his death, he still continues to influence and inspire people, especially the youth of this country.

 About Swami Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda was an influential Indian figure who played a key role in reviving Hinduism in modern-day India and introducing it to the rest of the world.
Some of his books include Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, The East And The West, Pearls Of Wisdom, Jnana Yoga, My India, The India Eternal, Practical Vedanta, and the poem Kali The Mother. He also wrote many poems and songs.

His writing was philosophical, lucid, and infused with humour. His writings adhered to his belief that language—written or spoken—must be simple and easy to understand.

Swami Vivekananda was born Narendranath Dutta on January 12, 1863. Narendra's personality and thinking reflected his mother's religious temperament and his father's rationality. He was initially home-schooled and later attended the Metropolitan Institute of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. In 1879, he passed the entrance examination from Presidency College, Calcutta (now Kolkata). He earned a Fine Arts degree in 1881, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1884. Swami Vivekananda was interested in a variety of subjects including philosophy, religion, social sciences, arts, and literature. He was the chief disciple of saint Ramakrishna of Dakshineshwar, and established the Ramakrishna Mission and the Ramakrishna Math. He played a vital role in introducing the Indian philosophies of Yoga and Vedanta to the world. He eventually became a wandering monk and toured the Indian subcontinent, exploring and understanding its conditions. In 1893, he represented India at The Parliament of World Religions in Chicago, and gave a rousing, memorable speech. He died on July 4, 1902, while he was meditating.

Atlas Shrugged (Paperback) by Ayn Rand,Leonard Peikoff

Book Summary of Atlas Shrugged

Atlas Shrugged is set in an unspecified era in a dystopian United States. The book is divided into three parts, each one containing ten chapters. The names of the three parts refer to Aristotle’s laws of logic. The parts are titled Non-contradiction, Either-Or, and A Is A.
The novel begins with Dagny Taggart, the Operating Vice President of a giant railroad company, struggling to keep the company afloat in tough economic conditions. As the economy worsens, Taggart begins to notice that the best and brightest people of the society keep disappearing mysteriously. As it eventually turns out, they are being led on a organized strike by John Galt, who aims to bring the motorworld to a halt.
Under the leadership of Galt, the minds responsible for society’s productivity and growth refuse to be exploited any further by rising taxes and government rules. They seek to prove that the world is headed straight for disaster if every individual is enslaved by the government and society. They fight to demonstrate that robbing an individual off of the freedom to create spells doom for civilization.
As the government strengthens its dictatorial stance, Taggart begins to see the collapse of society around her. The love story of Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden, a steel magnate, forms a subplot in the book.
The book is considered to be Ayn Rand’s magnum opus. It was first published in 1957 and highlights her philosophy of Objectivism. The ‘Atlas’ in the title of the book refers to Atlas, a Titan in Greek mythology. The silver screen adaption of the book got continuously stalled for almost 40 years, and was mired in several controversies. It was finally released on April 15, 2011, but met with mainly negative reviews. This particular edition of the book has an introduction by Rand’s student, Leonard Peikoff.
About the Author
Ayn Rand was a Russian-American author, screenwriter, playwright, and philosopher. She developed a philosophical theory called Objectivism.
Her fictional works include The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, Anthem, The Night Of January 16th, and We The Living. Some of her non-fictional works are The Romantic Manifesto: A Philosophy of Literature, The Virtue Of Selfishness, and Philosophy: Who Needs It.
Her writing received strong reviews, both good and bad. Rand’s novels garnered polarized opinions mainly because of the extensive philosophical content in them, which promoted capitalism and individual accomplishments over socialism and team successes.
Ayn Rand or Alisa Zinov’yevna Rosenbaum was born on February 2, 1905, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her family was forced to flee to Crimea after the rise of the Bolshevik party. She later returned to Petrograd (now St. Petersburg) and majored in history in the Department of Social Pedagogy at the Petrograd State University. After a visit to America to meet her relatives, she became quite intent on making it her home, which she eventually did. She developed and advocated her philosophy called Objectivism through her writing. Rand died of a heart attack on March 6, 1982, at her New York home.
